Russia Launch Zircon Hypersonic Missile |
International Military - Russia seems to want to prove its military strength to the world. Russia's invasion of Ukraine that never stops is also proof of how Russia is reluctant to give in to anyone. Recently, Russia even launched their latest hypersonic cruise missile which is called the most advanced in the world, the Zircon hypersonic missile.
Reporting from TASS, Russian troops announced the test of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile on Saturday (28/5/2022). This news was delivered by the Russian Ministry of Defense. "Today, the main frigate of Project 22450 Admiral Gorshkov fired a Zircon hypersonic cruise missile at sea target positions in the White Sea from the Barents Sea," the Defense Ministry said.
"According to objective control data, the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile successfully hit a sea target located at a distance of about 1,000 km," he added. The distance of 1,000 km is a very long distance for a hypersonic missile. Tests of the ship-to-surface version of the Zircon missile are said to be nearing completion. The Zircon missile was developed by the famous Reutov NPO Mashinostroeniya.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also called the prowess of the Zircon missile an incomparable new generation. The Zircon missile is said to be capable of traveling at speeds up to 9 times the speed of sound. Russia has also launched Zircon missiles from warships and submarines in 2021.
The Zircon is predicted to join the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle (which started operating in 2019). Putin is confident that this Zircon missile will be difficult to intercept and defeat by Russia's enemies. Russia's high-level weapons seem to be constantly being improved and the technology is developing more and more sophisticated.
Russia has also stated that it is ready to go to war with the Western bloc, including the United States. Last month, Russia also carried out a test launch of its Intermediate missile, the Sarmat, which is expected to reach the US easily.
No less frightening than the Zircon, the Sarmat missile is claimed to be able to carry more than 10 warheads and destroy targets with precision. If Russia's flagship missiles are ready to attack, all countries must be vigilant.
A hypersonic missile is a weapon that is difficult to avoid if it has targeted an object. It was also conveyed by KASAU Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo that hypersonic missiles are designed to be difficult to withstand by opponents. Hypersonic missiles can also carry high-power nuclear warheads with maximum destruction.
