Anticipating Russia's Advanced Weapons, US Develops Portable Nuclear Reactor |
New York - Allegedly in anticipation of Russia's sophisticated weapons, the United States is secretly investing in developing a portable nuclear reactor. Reportedly, two companies have been selected to work on this ambitious project.
As quoted from Ubergizmo, the United States Military has selected BWXT and another mysterious contractor to build a generation IV nuclear reactor. Later it is hoped that the nuclear reactor will have a small size, it can even be transported using a shipping container as long as 6 meters for higher mobility.
This portable nuclear reactor is also aspired to be easy to operate and can be operated immediately within one week after delivery.
The reactor will later be placed in a disaster zone that loses power, and it is hoped that it will not cause a disaster of its own thanks to technology that is much better than before.
Military electrification will take a long time, but having a large amount of electricity can prove to be very useful and this is considered by some experts to be a very good choice.
With portable nuclear reactors it is also possible to power direct energy weapons such as lasers or microwave beams. The success of this project is also said to be the ultimate projectile interceptor.
To note, the development of this portable nuclear reactor is actually a follow-up project from the Pele project, which is a reactor with an output of 1 to 5 megawatts. The nuclear reactor of the Pele project itself can last at least three years at full power. And the developer of this portable nuclear project if successful, it will be a big leap.
