"But I know we have data to support (assessment)," he told reporters, as quoted by AFP, Saturday (6/11/2022). “(Russian President Vladimir Putin) is going to the border. And no doubt, and Zelensky didn't want to hear it, neither did many people. I understand why they didn't want to hear it, but he came in."
The US began raising alarm over Russia's preparations for an invasion of Ukraine long before Putin announced a "special military operation" against the country on February 24. The warning was met with distrust and even veiled criticism from some European allies, who at the time felt the United States was too worrisome.
