President Vladimir Putin Says Russia Will Continue To Strengthen Armed Forces |
Moskow - Russia will continue to strengthen its Armed Forces taking into account the potential threats and risks. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with graduates of Military Colleges, Tuesday (21/6/2022).
"We will continue to develop and strengthen the Armed Forces taking into account the potential threats and military risks, based on the lessons of modern armed conflict, we will improve its composition," Putin said, as quoted by TASS.
Russia's Putin said that the equipment of the Armed Forces with new weapons systems, will determine the combat readiness of the Army and Navy for the coming years and decades, as a priority direction of the development of the Armed Forces. “We need to use robotics, the latest command and reconnaissance tools, drones much, much wider; (we need to) actively develop weapons based on new physical principles.
I'm talking about lasers, electromagnetics, and other types of weapons. And, of course, intense combat exercises, cooperative exercises with our allies will continue," Putin continued.
According to Putin, although Russia is currently going through trials and tribulations, they are being addressed and will be overcome. Putin also highlighted the courage and professionalism of the soldiers, who were involved in the operation in Ukraine.
"The country is undergoing another series of trials. Yes, there are restrictions, and they are indeed being overcome in various ways, but they are being addressed and will be overcome," Putin stressed. "Russia has always gone through some kind of trials and tribulations. Always, in order to reach the goal, we have to go through certain difficulties. But, as you know, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," he continued.
“Officers and soldiers today protected the Donbass from neo-Nazis, fought for peace and security for our people, for Russia's right to sovereign development. We are proud of that, during special military operations, our fighters act bravely, professionally, like real heroes. Russian fighters from different countries are fighting side by side," Putin said.
