Syrian state TV footage shows Israeli missiles over Damascus |
International Military - Syria accused Israel of launching missile attacks in areas south of Damascus on Monday night (6/6/2022), targeting the suburb of Saida Zaynab. "The air defenses were activated at around 11:18 am on Monday in response to an enemy missile detected approaching Damascus," state news agency SANA reported.

State TV described the attack as "Israeli aggression." "The missiles came from the direction of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and were "mostly" intercepted by air defenses," SANA said, citing military sources.
Witnesses reported seeing multiple explosions in the night sky over the Syrian capital. However, at least one missile managed to penetrate and cause property damage.
There have been no reports of casualties so far. Israel has repeatedly launched missiles into Syria over the past few years. On rare occasions Tel Aviv has acknowledged the attack.
