Russia Confirms Su-57 Stealth Fighter Jets Ready For Attack Ukraine |
International Military - Russia, for the first time, confirmed that the fifth-generation Su-57 stealth fighter jet has been used in combat missions in Ukraine. This confirmation came from Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov.
The jets have been repeatedly assigned with missions, both individually and as part of squads," Borisov told reporters on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum on Saturday.

He added that the weapons of the advanced planes were very effective. The Su-57 first joined the Russian Air Force in 2020 and flies bombing missions in Syria.
Russian media first reported the use of Su-57 fighter jets in Ukraine in May, but there was no official confirmation from the Moscow government or military. In June, RIA Novosti news agency quoted a source as saying that four advanced fighter jets had been deployed to locate and destroy Ukraine's air defenses.
Without elaborating on the type of aircraft, the source said stealth technology helped the fighter jet evade radar. Borisov said that Russia has also used laser weapons in Ukraine, capable of destroying drones. meanwhile, the West continued to deliver heavy weapons to Ukraine, including the HIMARS dual rocket launcher and the M777 howitzer.

Russia has been attacking Ukraine since February 24 under the pretext of demilitarizing and de-Nazifying Ukraine. As of today (20/6/2022), the war has entered its 117th day.
