Unidentified Beechcraft Type Aircraft Crosses Airspace of 4 European Countries |
International Military - A small twin-engine aircraft that takes off from Hungary over the airspace of the country, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria.
This was revealed by the Romanian Ministry of Defense. "A small twin-engine plane, Beechcraft type, with two people on board, flew at low altitude over the airspace of Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, on the night of June 8", the Romanian Ministry of Defense said in a statement as quoted by Sputnik, Thursday (9/6/2022).

The Romanian Ministry of Defense added that the aircraft did not display any hostile behavior. "The pilot ignored radio interrogation and visual signals sent by military interceptors," the ministry said.
The statement added that the plane which took off from Hungarian territory was first intercepted by the Hungarian Air Force. The aircraft then entered Romanian airspace, where it was first escorted by US Air Force aircraft and later intercepted by the Romanian Air Force.
The plane then entered Bulgarian airspace. "Bulgarian authorities are currently investigating, on the ground, the area where the target was last seen to identify the aircraft and establish further details," the statement said.
The Hungarian Ministry of Defense reported that Lithuanian markings were seen on the plane, which was en route from Slovakia to Romania. The ministry also noted that the plane landed in the Hungarian city of Hajduszoboszlo for refueling, but then took off again.
