Prime Minister Boris Johnson visits Ukrainian troops being trained by British Armed Forces in North Yorkshire |
London - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed earlier this week he had joined Ukrainian forces for a training session. This is the second military exercise in the last two weeks.
On Saturday (23/7/2022), Johnson tweeted a video showing him in full camouflage as he tested a variety of weapons, including an anti-tank missile launcher and a grenade machine gun.
He was also seen throwing grenades. "This week I visited Ukrainian troops trained by the British Armed Forces in North Yorkshire," said the British prime minister, who was embroiled in a scandal that led to his resignation.

Johnson added in the video that he had met "some of the 400 Ukrainian soldiers" being trained by British troops as part of a "major" initiative.
The programme, announced during Johnson's visit to Kiev last month, provides training for up to 10,000 members of the Ukrainian military in the coming months. British military support for Ukraine has amounted to £2.3 billion ($2.8 billion) and includes, according to Johnson, 6,900 anti-tank guns and 120 armored vehicles.
Moscow has warned the West against sending weapons to Ukraine, saying it would only prolong the conflict. In the video, Johnson pays tribute to the "courage and heroism" of the Ukrainian army. He shouted "Glory to Ukraine" in Ukrainian to the troops he was training with.
Last week, he took part in a demonstration flight at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, England. In a government-released video, Johnson is shown at the controls of a Typhoon fighter jet giving a thumbs up to two air-to-air refueling planes.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, "Johnson seems to show that he likes exorbitant fuel prices, and refueling only for celestial beings." "British humor," said Zakharova, amid the worsening world energy crisis. partly due to Western sanctions against Russia.
