The Dassault Rafale M Fighter Jet Made In France |
Paris - France is known as one of the world-class fighter aircraft manufacturers. These country-made fighter jets are often the target of many countries and are used by militaries from various parts of the world, including Indonesia. One of the superior products that is being hunted by many countries is the French-made Dassault Rafale fighter jet.
The Dassault Rafale is a 4.5th generation twin-engine delta wing multi-role fighter jet designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Introduced in 2000, the Rafale is being produced both for ground use with the French Air Force and for carrier-based operations with the French Navy.
Quoted from Skybrary.aero, the Rafale is a twin jet fighter that can operate from aircraft carriers and coastal bases. The Rafale, fully versatile, is capable of performing all combat aviation missions: air superiority and air defense, close air support, deep attack, reconnaissance, anti-ship strikes and nuclear deterrence.
The Rafale entered service with the French Navy in 2004 and with the French Air Force in 2006. With more than 30,000 flight hours in operation, the Rafale has proven its worth in combat in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq and Syria.
The aircraft is available in three main variants:
1. Rafale C single-seat land-based version
2. Rafale B twin-seat land-based version
3. Rafale M single-seat carrier-based version
This aircraft is also capable of carrying a variety of powerful weapons. European missile maker MBDA Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missiles and Scalp cruise missiles will be the mainstay of the jet's weapons package. The Rafale Meteor is the next generation of BVR air-to-air missiles (BVRAAM) designed to revolutionize air-to-air combat.
The weapon has been developed by MBDA to combat common threats facing Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Sweden. The fighter jet is powered by a unique rocket-ramjet motor that provides much longer engine power than other missiles.
In addition to the missile system, the Rafale jet will come with various special modifications, including a helmet-mounted display, radar warning receiver, low band jammer, 10-hour flight data recording, infrared search and tracking system.
