| Dutch Air Force Receives Ammunition For F-35A Fighter Training |
Amsterdam - The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) has received ammunition for training the F-35A stealth fighter jet. Among the ammunition received was an Mk-82 bomb. NATO's Procurement and Support Agency (NSPA) said ammunition support had been delivered under the Ammunition Support Partnership (ASP), the Air Ammunition Component. It is one of a series of unguided, low-drag general-purpose training bombs.
This latest delivery also marks the first time that support has been extended by ASP through acquisitions and cross-service agreements (ACSA). ASP has completed delivery of the Mk-82 within six months of the initial request by the RNLAF. This collaboration is carried out through the Mutual Emergency Support framework by USAF Europe.
Under this framework, the countries involved provide governance and guidance while the NSPA works to develop capacity to address and meet country requirements.
The operational and administrative tasks related to implementing the requirements carried out under the Support Partnership activities are funded by the participating country and the customer country.
In addition to ammunition, the partnership also provides multinational multirole tanker transport (MRTT), helicopters, unmanned aerial systems, alliance ground surveillance, fixed-wing aircraft along with ground vehicles, missiles and other systems. NSPA has recently delivered the sixth and seventh MRTT A330 aircraft to the multinational MRTT fleet unit.
