Turkey's Akinci-B Drone Tests With Full Armament |
Ankara - The Baykar Akıncı B combat drone (UCAV) carried out the flight with all nine of its armor hangers loaded. This can be seen in a video the company shared on August 22, 2022.
Baykar stated that all the weapons brought were domestically made. The drone carries Teber-82 and MAM-T mini-munitions, along with MAM-L and MAM-C mini-munitions at dual launch stations and HGK-82 at intermediate weapons stations.
Prior to this, Akinci had conducted test fires with the Teber-82 guidance kit developed by the home defense giant, Roketsan. Meanwhile, MAM is a laser-guided weapon system also produced by Roketsan for armed drones, light attack aircraft, and fighter aircraft.
The MAM-C is the high-explosion variant, while the MAM-L is the thermobaric variant. The largest weapon, however, is the MAM-T and is a long-range variant.
The HGK-82 is a precision guidance kit developed by the Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE) of the Türkiye Scientific and Technological Research Council (TÜBITAK). During the most recent test flight, Daily Sabah wrote, the Akinci B drone carried three Teber-82, one HGK-82, two MAM-L, MAM-C and MAM-T with a total weight of 1,230 kg (2,711 pounds).
