Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov in a Speech |
Kiev - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov hopes that by the end of 2022 Ukraine will hear “good news” about the situation on the front lines. However, he couldn't say for sure when the war would end.
"It's difficult for me to say whether it will be years, a year, a month, because this is still just my assumption. There are many factors that will lead us to victory. We will definitely get there. The question is when and at what price,” said Reznikov as reported by Ukrainska Pravda (25/8).
He believes that the chance to win for Ukraine will be faster and at a lower cost thanks to the partnership alliance. “I am an optimist or (say) well-rounded, so I have certain positive hopes that this year will be good and pleasant news for all Ukrainian people and the world. It's important for people to see the win."
As an optimist, Reznikov hopes that Ukraine will acquire the HIMARS missile system with a greater effective range.
Ukraine will upgrade its anti-ship missile system and get anti-radar missiles at their disposal. He added that Ukrainian troops were undergoing a training program guided by their Western counterparts.
