US Supply Device DroneDefender Anti-Drone to Ukrainian Armed Forces |
Washington - The US Department of Defense has reportedly delivered a DroneDefender anti-drone device to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This anti-drone device was previously only used in the US military and is now also in the possession of the Ukrainian military.
A photo shared on social media shows a Ukrainian soldier holding the DroneDefender, as reported by Bulgarian Military (23/08).
It is known that the DroneDefender system was developed and produced by the United States company DeDrone. The device boots up in less than a second. Its range reaches 2 km. With a fully charged battery, the DroneDefender can operate continuously for up to 2 hours.
Operation DroneDefender is quite easy to use the device has an integrated VR simulator and GPS and weighs about 7 kg. The manufacturer describes its product as a highly capable means of interfering with the most commonly used enemy drone frequencies. It includes the GNSS spectrum and is effective against a wide range of COTS UAS.
Apart from DroneDefender, photos of another antidrone system KVS-G6 are also circulating, which are domestically produced by the Ukrainian company Kvertus Technology.
The KVS G-6 uses radio signals to interfere with drone control, has a range of 3.5 km and a battery life of 30 minutes. According to the manufacturer, the weapon can interfere with video and remote control transmissions at 2.4 and 5 GHz, as well as L1 and L2 and Glonass GPS signals.
