Greece Receives 2 F-16V Fighter Jets Upgraded From Block 52+ |
Athens - Greece received two F-16V Block 70 jets as an upgrade from its first F-16 Block 52+. Greek media revealed that as many as 34 F-16 fighter jets will undergo the same upgrade to the F-16V at a total cost of 2.4 billion USD.
The first two fighters were upgraded by the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAB) under the supervision and assistance of Lockheed Martin.
These two Greek F-16 fighters have been returned to the Greek Air Force (HAF) inventory.
To note, the Greek F-16 Block 52+ modernization contract to the F-16V was signed in 2017 between Athens and Lockheed Martin. The entire modernization of all 34 F-16 fighter jets will be completed by 2027 at the latest.
