List of 3 Russian Fighter Jets Ever Used For Bombard Syrian Rebels |
International Military - Russia is known as one of the countries with a capable military strength. Not inferior to its rivals, Moscow continues to develop and design advanced combat equipment with amazing capabilities. In its history, Russia is also known to be often involved in conflicts with other countries. Not only fighting directly, sometimes they also intervened militarily, including during the civil war in Syria.
Quoted from The New Yorker, in September 2015 Vladimir Putin officially ordered his troops to intervene in the Syrian conflict to defend the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. Not only suppressing the rebels who are backed by Western countries, Russia also provides a number of weapons, including fielding some of its advanced fighter jets. Here are three Russian fighter jets that have been used to bombard rebels in Syria.

The Su-34 is one of the most powerful Russian fighter jets equipped with modern features. Quoted from The International Interest page, in a thorough refit and modernization effort, this fighter jet received digital onboard controls, a streamlined navigation system, and improved electronic countermeasures (ECM) capabilities.
The Su-34 is considered a technologically advanced fighter jet that Russia deployed during the civil war in Syria. Su-34 formations ambush rebel positions with guided bombs. As for the type equipped with air missiles, it is used to patrol Syrian airspace.

Next is the Sukhoi Su-35. The Russian Air Force first fielded this fighter jet in Syria in early 2016. Quoted from the Military Watch Magazine page, at that time the purpose of deploying this aircraft was to support anti-aircraft security in the surrounding area. In this mission, the Su-35 is equipped with R-77 active radar-guided air missiles.
Furthermore, the deployment of these advanced fighter jets was also used against Turkey's F-16 Fighting Falcons. In this case, the task of the Su-35 is to prevent Turkish fighter jets from attacking the Syrian military or providing reinforcements to the opposition. This is a form of Russian military intervention in the Syrian war.
3. Sukhoi Su-24

The Russian Su-24 fighter jet is one of the combat equipment ever used in Syria. Quoted from the Military Watch Magazine page, since production in 1967, the Su-24 has become a mainstay as a Moscow light bombing aircraft. In fact, when the Su-34 was introduced in 2014, it was still the most advanced fighter jet. Capable of striking up to 400 miles from its target, the Su-24 is known to outperform the US-made F-15E in many ways.
Furthermore, with a relatively affordable price, this Su-24 fighter jet can be fielded in large numbers by small countries that lack funds. For example, when deployed in Syria, the Su-24's prestige lost to the Su-34 and Su-35 which attracted more media attention. In fact, at that time around 12 Su-24 units were able to carry out most of the air strikes and succeeded in proving their capabilities.
