Sukhio Su-75 Checkmate Pre-Production Fighter To Be Built in 2026 |
Moscow - The Su-75 Checkmate group of pre-production aircraft will be created in 2026. This is according to a document released at the 7th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok on 5-8 September. A pre-production lot is an initial batch created to confirm that a new design aircraft is ready to enter the full-scale production line.
Before going into pre-production aircraft, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will first build four Su-75 prototypes to undergo various tests, TASS reported.
The Su-75 Checkmate was developed by Sukhoi, part of UAC, Rostec. The aircraft was first presented to the public at the MAKS-2021 air show in Zhukovsky. The aircraft was then introduced overseas at the 2021 Dubai Airshow in the United Arab Emirates.
The company says, Checkmate brings the latest technical solutions. The aircraft has an open architecture and unique artificial intelligence technology. Checkmate is designed with stealth characteristics. The aircraft has an internal weapons bay to accommodate air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles.
It is stated that the Su-75 is capable of carrying a payload of seven tons and can destroy six targets at once. The aircraft will fly at a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 and have a combat radius of 3,000 km (1,864 miles).
