Ukrainian Company Launches Perfect Shark Drone |
International Military - A Ukrainian company has launched a drone designed to target Western-supplied artillery targets. The "Shark" UAV, developed by the company Ukrspecsystems, is designed to fly reconnaissance and surveillance missions up to 60 km behind enemy lines.
The drone can also track targets at a distance of 5 km. The drone is said to be resistant to jamming and can spot artillery fire targets.
According to the Ukrainskaya Pravda newspaper, the drones can work in tandem with Western-supplied long-range weapons, including the US-made M142 HIMARS dual rocket launcher. "Today, the Shark is fully prepared for use on the battlefield," the company said in a statement Thursday (27/10/2022).
The company previously described the Shark drone as "the perfect scout, quiet, fast and durable." Ukrspecsystems said work on the drones began after Russia launched its military operation in the neighboring country on February 24. Both Moscow and Kiev have made extensive use of surveillance and drone strikes during the conflict.
