International Military - The US Air Force (USAF) and Australian Air Force (RAAF) after holding Exercise Global Dexterity 22-2. Both air forces deployed C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft. More than 30 personnel from the USAF and Hawaii Air National Guard are working with personnel from the RAAF in the bilateral exercise that was held November 12-19.

The exercise took place at RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland, Australia. During the exercise, the two C-17 aircraft from each air force carried out a series of air mobility missions.

USAF 15th Wing Combat Assignment Director Major Joshua Moore said the aim of Exercise Global Dexterity is to provide an Air Force mobility centric exercise in which USAF and RAAF aircrews can develop integration and interoperability.

“The advantages of integrating USAF and RAAF aircrews are countless, but what stands out the most to me is the sharing of best practices, the exchange of ideas, and the ability to operate as a single crewed force in a conflict,” he said. It added that Australia had become one of the closest allies of the United States. The two countries fought side by side in every major conflict in history.

Exercise Global Dexterity is held twice a year. Host duties were rotated between PACAF's 535th Airlift Squadron in Hawaii and the RAAF's 36th Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley near Brisbane.
