According to Airforce Technology, the J-10 can reach a maximum speed of 2,327 km/h, which is below Mach 2.2.

The Mikoyan MiG-25 Foxbat fighter is still the fastest with a maximum flight capability of Mach 2.83. Unfortunately Russia is reported to have retired the MiG-25 Foxbat and replaced it with a fresher MiG-31 Foxhound. Although production of the MiG-25 Foxbat ended in 1984, the fighter jet, which served as an interceptor, is still seen in service with the Algerian Air Force. Even though the MiG-25 Foxbat is very feared by the West because it can compete with the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Falcon because it has a high kill ratio.
