Novosibirsk Aviation Supplies New Su-34 Fighter To Russian Aerospace Forces |
Moscow - The Novosibirsk Aviation Factory has supplied the new Su-34 Fullback fighter-bomber to the Russian Aerospace Forces. As reported by Izvestia, the government of the Russian Federation reported the delivery of a new batch of Su-34s, without specifying the number. The fighter has passed complex flight and ground tests, according to the Russian government.
The newly delivered Su-34 will expand combat capabilities, enabling the use of modern aviation weapons. However, the Russian government did not specify what repairs and improvements were made to this aircraft, which is often called the super defender.
In 2020, Moscow announced that the Su-34 would receive modern ammunition, improved electronic warfare equipment and a unique reconnaissance container. For the modernization announced at that time, Russia promised new avionics for the Su-34.
Still in 2020, Su-34 designers developed three containers with different reconnaissance payloads. The UKR-RT variant is designed for electronic reconnaissance, UKR-OE for optoelectronics and UKR-RL for radar scanning.
They all use a single data bus to interact with the aircraft and are therefore interchangeable. The modernization of the Su-34 was designed based on the Su-34's combat operations in Syria.
