The Indonesian Navy Tests the D-18 Fast Combat Ship Made by PT Tesco Indomaritim |
Jakarta - The Indonesian Navy has tested the Combat Ship D-18 fast boat made by PT Tesco Indomaritim. The trial was carried out at Pantai Mutiara, Pluit, North Jakarta on Friday (18/11). Combat Boat D-18 which is made of aluminum material is equipped with a 12.7 mm submachine gun.
Alternatively, this ship can be equipped with the RCWS CROWS system which can be fitted with an M2HB or Mk19 Mod 0 grenade launcher. The ship is designed to carry out pursuit, arrest and investigation such as maritime security operations, special anti-terror warfare in maritime aspects, infiltration activities by sea, and Search and Rescue (SAR). The ship can maneuver suddenly and zig-zag maneuvers up to a speed of 43 knots.
The Combat ship D-18 is 18 m long, 4.5 m wide, has a draft of 0.8 m and displaces 22 tonnes. The fuel tank capacity reaches 3,600 liters. The ship is operated by 4 crew members and is capable of carrying 22 soldiers. Troops can be landed on shore through a hatch in the keel of a Combat Boat.
The Indonesian Navy said the trial of the D-18 Combat Boat was witnessed directly by Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Wakasal) Rear Admiral TNI Ahmadi Heri Purwono. Also present to accompany were the Assistant for Logistics Kasal Kasda TNI Agus Santoso, Kadismatal Rear Admiral TNI Widiyantoro, Danpasmar 1 Brigadier General Mar Hermanto, and Director of PT Tesco Indomaritim Dr. Guaranteed Basuki. Currently, as many as eight Combat Boats made by PT Tesco Indomaritim have been used by the Indonesian Navy.
