Ukrainian Military Starts Using MaxxPro Combat Vehicles US Donated At Belarusian Border |
Kiev - MaxxPro Troop Transport Vehicles donated by the United States have been spotted recently being used by Ukrainian troops in an exercise on Ukraine's border with Belarus.
It is suspected that this exercise is in preparation for a new wave of Russian attacks that will invade Ukraine through the territory of Belarus, where Russian troops and battle tanks have been there since December 2022.
As is known, the MaxxPro MRAP (Mine Resistance Ambush Protected) type vehicle is part of Uncle Sam's military assistance to Ukraine which was announced in early October 2022. The aid worth 625 million dollars includes 200 units of MaxxPro vehicles manufactured by Navistar Defense (a subsidiary of Navistar International).
Navistar Defense developed MaxxPro using the crew capsule from the Navistar International 7000 series commercial truck. MaxxPro adopts a V-hull design, to deflect land mine explosions or improvised explosive devices (IEDs) farther from the vehicle to save the passengers inside.
As the driving force is a MaxxForce D9.3I6 diesel engine with a capacity of 9,300 cc which produces power up to 375 hp. For specifications, MaxxPro has a length of 6.5 m (short version) and 7.2 m (long version), 2.5 m wide and 3 m high. The cabin can accommodate 5-7 people.
