Predicting War Will End in Mid-2024, IMF Loans US $ 15.6 billion to Ukraine |
International Military - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) disbursed a four-year loan program of 15.6 billion US dollars to Ukraine. The world body predicts that the Russo-Ukrainian War will end in mid-2024. Loans are provided by the IMF to support the Ukrainian economy which has been disrupted by the war against Russia.
IMF official Gavin Gray was quoted by Reuters as saying the war would result in a projected financing gap of $115 billion. This will be borne by multilateral and bilateral donors/creditors.
He added that countries that provide financing guarantees have agreed to cooperate with the IMF to ensure that Ukraine can repay its debts to the IMF.
