Saab's Fourth GlobalEye AEW&C Successfully Makes First Flight |
International Military - The fourth GlobalEye platform from Saab, Sweden successfully made its maiden flight. The Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft will be delivered to the customer immediately. The aircraft flew from the Saab airfield in Linköping, Sweden on April 3, 2023 and conducted several tests regarding the aircraft's capabilities, the company said.

This confirms that we have the necessary infrastructure, capabilities and expertise to support our customers with state-of-the-art AEW&C solutions within a timeframe unmatched in the market,” said Carl-Johan Bergholm, Head of Area Oversight of Saab's business.
GlobalEye is the most modern multi-domain AEW&C solution with a suite of active and passive sensors that provide remote object detection and identification in the air, sea and land. By providing real-time information to units in the air force, army and navy, GlobalEye enables enhanced situational awareness of surrounding areas and early detection of threats.
GlobalEye aircraft can be used for non-military tasks such as leading and coordinating rescue missions during natural disasters or larger accidents at sea or on land.
Saab has the largest AEW&C customer base in the world. The company has provided solutions for the past 30 years across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia for a variety of mission roles.
