Ukraine to Buy 100 Rosomak APC Vehicles Made in Poland, Funded by US and EU! |
Warsaw - Ukraine is rumored to be buying 100 Rosomak Armored Personnel Carrier Vehicles (APC) made in Poland. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki through his social media account.
This purchase will be funded by the United States and the European Union. Other details were not disclosed, as reported by Defense Express on April 1, 2023.
The Rosomak APC is the Polish license production version of Finland's Patria advanced modular vehicle. The vehicle is manufactured by Rosomak SA. The Polish Ministry of Defense previously ordered 690 of these APCs in 2002 and increased to 1,000 units in 2013.
The Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) version is equipped with the OTO Melara Hitfist-30P turret from Italy. Vehicle is equipped with an ATK Mk44 Bushmaster II automatic gun, a 7.62×51-mm UKM-2000C machine gun, a fire control system with thermographic sight, and an Obra laser warning system.
Modern versions of the Rosomak-M2 and M3 are equipped with a 40mm OSS-D open turret with a 40mm Mk-19 grenade launcher or a 12.7mm NSW/WKM-B heavy machine gun.
