Get to know the DF-27, China's New Hypersonic Missile Candidate To Counter US Hypersonic Missiles |
Beijing - China is one of the most respected countries in the world. Not only their influence, they are also known to have qualified military power. Not only does it have a large number of active personnel, its military strength is also supported by various types of weapons with terrible capabilities. One of them is a hypersonic missile.
Quoted from the Washington Post, some time ago there was a leak of US intelligence documents. Of the many issues raised, one of them is related to China which has conducted testing of its newest hypersonic missile called the DF-24.
According to a leaked classified report, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has conducted a test of its newest hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile named DF-27 on February 25, 2023.
The development of the DF-27 is claimed to increase China's combat capabilities in dealing with threats. This includes the aim of penetrating the ballistic missile defenses of the United States (US).
In the tests conducted, the DF-27 flew for 12 minutes and covered a distance of 2,100 kilometers. In addition, according to the Ministry of Defense's 2021 report, the Chinese missile also has a range of between 5,000 and 8,000 kilometers.
Not only its range, another advantage of the DF-27 is called 'Hypersonic Glide' which allows it to maneuver to penetrate the air defense lines of its enemies.
