Greece Receives M-346 Trainer Jets Equipped With Israeli-Made Avionics |
International Military - Greece has received the first M-346 trainer jet equipped with avionics made by Elbit Systems, Israel. The two M-346 jets landed on the Hellenic Airforce Runway in Kalamata and will further strengthen the Hellenic International Flight Training Center in Kalamata, Greece.
The arrival of the aircraft was greeted by representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Hellenic Air Force and Elbit Systems. The M-346 aircraft is equipped with Elbit Systems integrated virtual avionics, which can simulate combat and flight scenarios to bring the pilot training experience to the highest level.
Leonardo's M-346 is powered by a twin engine. The aircraft is equipped with tandem seats that accommodate fully digital flight controls and avionics. The aircraft is equipped with a fly-by-wire control system and an interface with a Head-Up Display. The M-346's handling is similar to that of a next-generation fighter, which maximizes the pilot's flight training. The M-346 has served in various air forces in Poland, Nigeria and Turkmenistan.
