PULS MLRS, Israel's Missile Launcher System Interested in NATO Countries |
Tel Aviv - Israel is developing PULS, a new generation multi-barreled and multi-caliber missile (MLRS) system. This Israeli-made weapon will compete with the M270 HIMARS made in the United States (US).
The presence of PULS was quickly requested by two NATO member countries, namely Denmark and the Netherlands. The two of them have also purchased PULS MLRS from Israel. The advantage of PULS is the use of a flexible platform, it is also compatible with local products, or third parties and C4I systems according to the wishes of the user.
The PULS incorporates an advanced autonomous firing system, streamlines mission management, and ensures consistent, efficient fire support in all weather conditions. Unlike traditional rocket artillery systems, the PULS system can fire different types of ammunition to different distances from the same position. This versatile launcher has two PODS, for specific rocket types.
The two types of rockets include Accular 122 mm (18 rockets) with a range of up to 35 km, Accular 160 mm (10 rockets) with a range of up to 40 km, EXTR (4 rockets) with a range of up to 150 km, and Predator Hawk (2 rockets) with range up to 300 km.
The PULS is also capable of accurately and effectively neutralizing targets at all ranges, providing maximum response and firing flexibility without the need for special modifications. This system is fully adaptable to any existing or available platform in the market. One of them is the US-made Oshkosh HEMTT 8x8 heavy military truck.
