Scorpion TB-001 is a Medium Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) drone owned by China. In operation, this drone has the nickname 'Twin-Tailed Scorpion'. In its history, Beijing first launched TB-001 in September 2017. Meanwhile, its use by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been going on since 2021.
In design, this Chinese drone was developed by Sichuan-based Tengoen Technology. Powered by two conventional engines, the TB-001 has an estimated range of between 6,000 and 8,000 kilometers. Then, the drone has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of more than 3,000 kg and a service altitude of 32,808 feet. Meanwhile, the maximum flight time that can be achieved is 35 hours.
Apart from that, TB-001 also has quite an attractive design. The developers pinned an unusually positioned triple propeller configuration. In this case, all three consist of one propeller on each wing. While the other one is pinned at the end of the main fuselage as a booster.
