How powerful are these British and French missiles actually?
To answer this question, here are the specifications. Storm Shadow Long Range Missile Specifications
Storm Shadow is a long-range missile that is fired from the air. This weapon was developed by MBDA Systems and entered service with the French air force in 2003. The missile that has been handed over to Ukraine has a range that far exceeds the HIMARS missile, the missile that Kyiv has been using for the past year.
Quoted from MBDA System, Storm Shadow weighs 1300 kg, is 5.10 meters long, 0.4 meters in diameter with a tandem warhead weighing 450 kilograms. For its own range is estimated at more than 250 km.
Apart from those fired from the air, there are also variants fired from warships with a range of up to 1,400 km and a head warhead weighing 300 kg. The sophistication that has been applied to this long-range missile lies in an inertial navigation system combined with GPS and terrain reference.
Therefore this missile can attack targets with high accuracy. The Storm Shadow missile is also equipped with the Turbomeca Microturbo TRI 60-30 turbojet propulsion system, which can generate 5.4kN of thrust.
Britain is estimated to have between 700 and 1,000 Storm Shadow missiles. In addition, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, India and Greece also have this weapon.
