Moscow - Russia's Defense Ministry says its troops have repulsed a large-scale attack by Ukrainian troops in parts of the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the armed formations and military units of Kiev suffered significant losses.

It was unclear whether the tally included losses from Sunday's botched offensive, which the Russian military described as "large-scale" but "unsuccessful". In that effort alone, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev lost more than 250 troops, 16 tanks, three infantry vehicles and 21 armored vehicles.
Several videos circulated by military bloggers on Telegram show some abandoned French AMX-10 light tanks, but do not include visual confirmation of the German-made Leopard tank reportedly losing the battle. The Russian Ministry of Defense has not released footage of the latest attack on Ukrainian military vehicles.

Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Anna Maliar confirmed that Kiev's forces were moving to "offensive actions" in several areas, but made no comment on the failed offensive and claimed that Moscow's remarks about the mistake of the Kiev "counterattack" were an attempt to distract from its own alleged failure.
