Ukraine - The Russian Lancet kamikaze drone successfully hit a Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 fighter jet. The attack was carried out at the Dolgintsevo airfield in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The drone hit the fuselage behind the cockpit and near the right wing. As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out at the front of the plane.
Video footage shows the fire growing. The presence of a fire engine was seen trying to extinguish the fire from a distance. Lancet hit this Ukrainian Su-25 at a position 60 km behind the front line. This fact confirms the operational range of the drone, which according to official data from the Russian manufacturer ZALA is 60-110 km.
The Lancet loitering munition, became the Russian army's most successful drone in the war in Ukraine. These drones are highly effective against any weapon system. During Special Military Operations in Ukraine, the Lancet has taken casualties such as self-propelled howitzers, tanks, armored personnel carriers, light infantry vehicles, military boats, and others.
Previously, the Russian Lancet also succeeded in disabling a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29, flying 70 km before crashing into another Fulcrum fighter jet.
